Dear Moms,
Good health begins at home. I cannot overstate this enough. If you’re not a Mom, this post is still for you because we all make choices that affect our health.
The choices that parents (mainly mothers) make about food and medicine is what will determine the health of their family. You reap what you sow. If you have health problems in your family, big or small, look to what you are putting in or on your bodies.
If you’re healthy now, but want to avoid reaping a harvest of poor health later, then make changes now.
We are surrounded by so many lies about what is truly healthy for us. Start with common sense and real food. Quit eating all processed foods. Learn to cook from scratch.
Learn about basic human needs that we don’t really take care of in our culture, but know we should. Learn about home remedies and herbal medicine. Learn to grow some of your own food, even herbs in pots or sprouts in a jar.

You don’t need to know all about supplements and the latest trends in biohacking (I don’t even know what biohacking means!). Grandma’s homemade chicken soup is real wisdom when it comes to health and wellness.
Some folks think it’s too expensive to by real food instead of processed foods. Bad health costs way more, and not just in money. Years ago a cashier at our local grocery store testified to us that a cart full of processed food costs way more than a cart full of real food.
You can save lots of money by baking homemade bread. Or cooking soaked oatmeal for breakfast instead of eating boxed cereals. You can also save by buying in bulk. We love buying pantry staples in bulk from Azure Standard.
Feminism robbed us of stay-at-home Moms who fed their families from-scratch meals and nursed them back to health with chicken broth when they were sick. We need to believe the truth that God created us for the most important job in the world – being a Mom – and take up the torch again for the sake of our future generations. The health of nations and all of humanity depends on your choices, Mom. Nobody else is going to care for your children the way you will.
If you’re NOT a Mom, it’s still important for you to learn these skills. God created women to be caretakers and nourishers. There are a lot of sick folks out there who would appreciate a homecooked meal or fresh baking from you. Or maybe another Mom you know needs help to learn these things for the benefit of her own family.
We live in a world of people who look to the government or programs to fix these health problems (Make American Healthy Again!), but the truth is that good health begins at home with the choices we make each day.
